About the Role

This role sits within the Operations Team and focuses on creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for members. The role holder ensures the highest standards of poolside safety, cleanliness and member experience, acting as a trusted ambassador for the club. They respond confidently to situations, maintain operational excellence and deliver exceptional service every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of members in the pool and spa areas, taking responsibility for personal safety and that of others.
• Act consistently in a safe manner, completing safety checks and recording them accurately.
• Monitor water chemical levels and clean the water when appropriate.
• Maintain the cleanliness of all areas and adhere to the high standards of Virgin Active.
• Comply with all mandatory training and health and safety requirements.
• Fulfil Duty Shifts when required, taking responsibility and accountability during the shift and controlling staffing and facility issues throughout the club.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Hold a current Lifeguard qualification and be fully registered with one of: IQL National Pool Qualification (RLSS), HABC Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding (RQF), or STA Professional Award for Pool Lifeguard (RQF).
• A friendly, calm and approachable nature with the ability to act quickly and effectively at all times.

• £12.71—£12.71 GBP
