QA Tester

About the Role

The QA Tester will join Virgin Active's Digital & Technology Transformation Team to test digital products and services used by members and teams. The role involves working closely with Product Managers, Engineers and Designers to identify defects, build automated tests and support features from development through to release. Technology is central to the evolution of Virgin Active into Social Wellness Clubs, with transformation of digital platforms and building globally scalable solutions across mobile applications, backend services, APIs and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Test new features across mobile applications, APIs, integrations and digital platforms.
• Create and maintain automated tests across UI, API and end-to-end journeys.
• Carry out functional, regression and release testing.
• Identify, record and track defects through to resolution.
• Work with engineers to improve test coverage and release quality.
• Investigate test failures, environment issues and release blockers.
• Support test data, test environments and release-readiness checks.
• Use monitoring and production feedback to identify areas for further testing.
• Contribute to sprint planning, technical discussions and continuous improvement.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Experience testing mobile, web or backend applications.
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining automated tests.
• Knowledge of UI, API, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Experience testing APIs, backend services and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, defect management and release testing.
• Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with tools such as WebDriver, BrowserStack, Percy, Allure, New Relic or Sentry would be advantageous, but it is not essential.
• Experience testing Android and iOS applications would also be beneficial.
