About the Role

The role is part of Virgin Active's Family Activities Team and is offered on a zero-hour basis. It involves inspiring swimmers of all ages and abilities through engaging, high-quality lessons that build confidence, skills and a lifelong love of the water. The instructor will create a safe, supportive and enjoyable learning environment while delivering exceptional member experiences and contributing to the success of the swim programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high-quality swimming lessons that inspire swimmers of all ages and abilities and build confidence, skills and a lifelong love of the water.
• Promote and deliver all poolside activities and scheduled swimming lessons to the highest standard, creating an exceptional experience for members.
• Develop creative and innovative classes following the Swim England (ASA) national plan for Teaching Swimming.
• Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for members within the pool and surrounding areas.
• Deliver great customer service by providing personal attention and care to all members.
• Accurately complete records to track attendance and improvements in fitness, ensuring individual, team and department targets are consistently met.
• Work closely with Swim management to meet and exceed set targets and objectives and help achieve commercial success within the department and wider Club team.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Swim England/ASA Level 2 in Teaching Swimming or STA Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Teaching.
• Flexible, friendly and approachable manner, with readiness for an exciting challenge.
• Ability to connect with members and get on well with people from all walks of life.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Experience in a customer-facing environment, able to respond appropriately and professionally to everyone in all manners, including face to face, over the phone and via email correspondence.

Salary

• £19—£19 GBP
