About the Role
Catapult is seeking a talented and inquisitive Graduate Software Engineer to join its motorsport team in London. The role involves planning, designing, building and testing features of motorsport applications, with responsibility for delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced environment with short project timelines. The position is primarily C++ focused, although candidates with good knowledge of another object-oriented language such as C or Java will also be considered. In six months, the successful candidate will be able to add new features with guidance from product and engineering leaders; in twelve months, they will have an area of speciality within the motorsport team and be able to suggest new insights and solutions for future development. The role is available to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, build and test features of motorsport applications.
- Design and implement professional applications for elite-level motorsport using sound software engineering practices.
- Fix bugs and help the support team answer technical questions.
- Deliver on goals in a timely manner and provide regular progress updates to the team.
- Assist with the production of documentation and the design of tests.
- Take responsibility for constantly improving productivity.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- C++ experience, or experience in another object-oriented language (such as C or Java) and a willingness to learn C++.
- Degree in computer science or another scientific or technical subject.
- Experience developing efficient data structures and algorithms.
- A passion for technology.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- A drive for learning and determination for continuous improvement.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with short project timelines from conception to deployment.
- Passion for sport and building world-class software.
Preferred Skills
- A passion for Motorsport.
- An understanding of UI and UX design.
- Experience developing applications on Windows.
- Experience of Agile development tools and processes.
- Experience developing applications in Visual Studio.
- Experience developing applications that process video.
- Basic understanding of networking.
Workplace
- Based in London.
