About the Role
Virgin Active is looking for talented and engaging Cycle Instructors to deliver high-quality group exercise classes. The role involves bringing energy, expertise and community into every class, creating inclusive and welcoming experiences for members. Instructors represent the Virgin Active brand and work with club teams to support a strong member experience across London & Collection clubs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, engaging group exercise classes across London & Collection clubs in line with Virgin Active standards and the requirements of the format taught, with the uniqueness that has given you a following.
- Bring own personality, energy and style to every class while creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members.
- Prepare thoroughly for each class, including music, equipment, choreography and class content where relevant.
- Deliver clear, confident and motivating instruction, ensuring members understand what they are doing and how to exercise safely.
- Create an energetic and memorable experience that motivates members to participate, progress and enjoy being active, and build positive relationships with members to contribute to a strong sense of community within the club.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism, punctuality and reliability, and follow all Virgin Active health, safety, safeguarding and operational procedures.
- Take responsibility for the cleanliness, set-up and safe use of equipment and studio space before, during and after class.
- Communicate effectively with the club team, provide appropriate feedback and report any issues that may affect the member experience.
- Represent the Virgin Active brand positively and professionally both inside and outside the club.
- Be open to feedback and continually look for ways to develop teaching and improve the member experience.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Inspiring and empowering group exercise instructor with a stage presence that can motivate members to give their all.
- Good understanding of how music can structure a class.
- Experience in teaching group exercise classes, with knowledge of the fundamentals of clear communication and giving instructions.
- Passionate about keeping people safe whilst exercising, always keeping an eye out for risks to members.
- Loves the community aspect of fitness and puts in the time to develop strong relationships with members.
- Loves to learn from those around them.
- Acts as a member of one team with one goal, always being themselves, working hard and dreaming big.
- Always looking for ways to learn and improve, to inspire people while having fun and doing the right thing.
