About the Role
This role involves maintaining first-class accounts for artists within a busy music agency. The position is industry-specific and focuses primarily on ensuring artists are paid within the short time-frames set out in their contracts. The role sits within a team of client accountants, where each accountant works with multiple agents.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and reconciling client (artist) accounts on Sage 200 and the bespoke booking database.
- Raising statements for artists through the bespoke database.
- Raising commission invoices.
- Making payments to artists.
- Ensuring accurate recording of multi-currency transactions.
- Performing various credit control tasks.
- Working directly with agents and their assistants to ensure all funds are accurately accounted for.
- Liaising and building relationships with artists, managers and accountants.
- Managing monthly reports of artist account balances and agent commissions.
- Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of FEU, withholding taxes and VAT.
- Allocating payments on CRM and Sage systems.
- Handling promoter refunds.
- Providing cover during colleague absences.
- Undertaking various ad hoc duties.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Experience with live events or touring.
- Attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of accounting software.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent administration and organisational skills.
- Ability to work in a team, use own initiative and take responsibility for own work.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Sage accounting software.
