What You Can Expect To Contribute As a Volunteer

• Lead and support impactful projects on climate change, financial literacy, well-being, inclusion and more

Has at least 3 years' working experience in one of our 6 project impact areas

In addition to projects, every successful applicant will have the opportunity to lead and shape our operations by taking on a key internal role within our hub. Our key internal roles include

• Social Media & Content Leads

"Our brand is in your hands. You are the storyteller, the voice, and the digital face of our community."

• Graphic Design Leads "Translate ideas into impact. Visuals speak louder than words, and you hold the paintbrush."
• Social Event Leads "We need you to bring the party! You are the architect of our culture, turning us from strangers into a tight-knit friends and community."
• Partnership Leads "You hold the keys to our network, driving the external relationships that build and maintain bridges with new and existing partners."

What will you be doing?

Who We Are

We are a group of young people in the Manchester Hub of Global Shapers Community in association with the World Economic Forum. Our mission is to inspire, empower and connect leaders to reach their full potential, amplify emerging voices in decision-making, and positively shape their communities and the world.

The Manchester Hub started in January 2020 with the aim to create a community that is focused on making a positive social impact and supporting each other through those journeys. Since then, we have created projects through collective action and community outreach that contribute to the local economy, social and digital inclusion and climate change.

Global Shapers creates projects within these 6 impact areas for the local community

What We Are Looking For

All selection takes place at the local level and each hub runs its own selection process. Successful applicants are

• between 18-27 years-old
• residents of, or live close to Greater Manchester
• committed to working with peers to improve their community
• skilled in our project impact areas and/or charity operations, such as governance, marketing, finance and human resources
• interested in developing their leadership potential
• willing to support fellow Shapers in their personal and professional development
• ready to engage in the community and follow our Community Charter
