The role of the Grid Connection Manager will manage all aspects of the assigned projects throughout its life cycle and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Taking a central role in the supervision of the electrical and civil connection design ensuring all permits are in for construction.
- Preparing PGMD application and submissions for approval process with the DNOs.
- Reviewing planning documentation and ICP/HV subcontractor designs ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Reviewing project design and contractual documentation ensuring project delivery is on time and in budget.
- Preparing ICP/HV subcontractor tender documentation and assisting with negotiation.
- Liaising with DNOs, TSOs and ICPs/HV subcontractors to obtain the most cost-effective connection.
- Preparing submissions for power systems studies for battery and solar projects.
- On-site supervision during the construction and commissioning phase.
- Reviewing grid power studies for various solar and battery projects.
- Identifying issues and proactively taking preventive measures to mitigate any project risks.
- Addressing project specific operational issues on site to confirm solutions.
Qualifications required include:
- Electrical engineering MSc/MEng/BSc/BEng or equivalent.
- PM with experience (3+ years) in the ICP and/or DNO/IDNO industry.
- Experience in solar PV and BESS.
- Experience working with TSO, DNO and ICPs in the UK.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Greek considered a plus.
- Good commercial knowledge and understanding.
Required skills include:
- Ensuring design complies with current legislation and relevant adopting utility policies, procedures, specifications and codes of practice.
- Ensuring fit for purpose design processes and procedures are in place to support the business.
- Acquiring necessary approvals and planning consents as required.
- Providing analysis, advice and support to resolve problems and enhance business/operational performance.
- Providing functional leadership for a defined service area.
- Developing and maintaining professional networks as a basis for a contribution to the development of best practice and fit for purpose solutions.
- Formulating training and development and succession plans for their function.
