About the Company
The role of the Grid Connection Manager will manage all aspects of the assigned projects throughout its life cycle and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
About the Role
The role will include, but is not limited to:
- Taking a central role in the supervision of the electrical and civil connection design ensuring all permits are in for construction.
- Prepare PGMD application and submissions for approval process with the DNOs.
- Reviewing planning documentation and ICP/HV subcontractor designs ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Reviewing project design and contractual documentation ensuring project delivery is on time and in budget.
- Preparing ICP/HV subcontractor tender documentation and assist with negotiation.
- Liaising with DNO’s, TSO’s and ICP’s / HV subcontractor’s to obtain the most cost-effective connection.
- Prepare submissions for power systems studies for our battery and solar projects.
- On-site supervision during the construction and commissioning phase.
- Review grid power studies for various solar and battery projects.
- Help to identify issues and proactively take preventive measures to mitigate any project risks.
- The candidate must be able to identify the source of likely problems and proactively take preventative measures to avoid any delays.
- There will be project specific operational issues where you have to be on site to confirm on solutions.
Qualifications
- Qualification electrical engineering MSc / MEng / BSc / BEng or equivalent.
- PM with experience (3+ years) in the ICP and/or DNO/IDNO industry.
- Experience in solar PV and BESS.
- Experience working with TSO, DNO and ICP’s in the UK.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) is a must, Greek considered a plus.
- Good commercial knowledge and understanding.

- Ensures design complies with current legislation and the following: Relevant adopting utility policies, procedures, specifications and codes of practice; Distribution Code; Electricity at Work Regulations; ESQCR - The Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002; National Electrical Registration Scheme (NERS) Requirements Document; IET Regulations (BS7671); Energy Networks Association (ENA) Regulations.
- Ensures fit for purpose design processes and procedures are in place to support the Business; Acquiring necessary approvals and planning consents as required.
- Provides analysis, advice and support to resolve problems and enhance business/operational performance.
- Provides functional leadership for a defined service area.
- Develops and maintains professional networks as a basis for a contribution to the development of best practice and fit for purpose solutions.
- Formulates training and development and succession plans for their function.
