Purpose of Position

The Engineer is responsible for monitoring, supervising and reporting construction activities and compliance to the project design criteria.

Position in Company Operational Structure

Reports to: Construction Manager

Liaises with: Other Engineers, HSE Manager, QA Engineers

Subordinate Positions: Subcontractors

Substituted by: Other Project Engineers

Required Work Experience:

Minimum 3 years' experience in Solar Power Plant construction

Required Educational Level and other competencies:

  • University or Technical Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering
  • Excellent use of English
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
  • Advanced use of AutoCAD software
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Construction experience
  • Technical competence
  • Organizational skills
  • Work under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate on-site works for utility-scale solar PV projects
  • Review and interpret electrical designs, including PV layouts, DC/AC cabling, inverter stations, substations, and single-line diagrams
  • Identify design discrepancies or constructability issues and report to the Construction Manager
  • Provide daily progress updates on construction activities, programme status, and material deliveries
  • Monitor and control electrical materials on site, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, cables, and containment
  • Ensure all works comply with UK standards, project specifications, and HSE requirements
  • Support inspections, snagging, testing, commissioning, and energisation activities
  • Assist with the preparation of as-built drawings and handover documentation
