The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintenance on a Solar PV plant. They should be able to make quality assurance checks in order to keep the product functional and standard high.
Responsibilities
- Manage and provide hands-on assistance with the delivery of all maintenance activities.
- Actively participate in all O&M activities related to overall site improvement and maintenance works related to the LV and HV electrical network.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Electrical Safety Rules (ESRs).
- Carry out scheduled Preventive maintenance activities and non-scheduled Corrective Maintenance activities.
- Keep records/logs of the scheduled/non-scheduled maintenance HV/LV activities either performed by himself or other contractors.
- Produce in-house RAMS for LV scheduled works.
- Ensure electrical safety across the sites during LV or other electrical works.
- Assist in developing new maintenance procedures where necessary.
- Identify resources/subcontractors to perform Maintenance activities if necessary (specialized companies, suppliers, etc.).
- Oversee the activity of contractors to ensure smooth, reliable, effective, and efficient implementation of any maintenance works undertaken on sites.
- Complete all paperwork including labour returns, timesheets, expenses, and material allocations.
- Liaise with the Operational management team and site operatives on day-to-day issues.
- Perform the Electrical Site Technician duties on site.
- Work on DC and LV systems and circuit protection and be able to diagnose any issues.
- Submit LV switching schedules in accordance with pre-agreed project programmes.
- Promote a positive HS&E culture whilst recommending new initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Identify improvement of activities and training needs and give feedback of findings to senior managers and directors.
Qualifications
- Foundation Degrees or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong problem-solving, technical, math, and science skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
