O&M Technician – Renewable Energy | UK

We are working with a leading renewable energy organisation to recruit an O&M Technician to support the operation and maintenance of utility-scale energy assets across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician to play a key role in ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of operational renewable energy projects.

Location: South Midlands, UK

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and technical performance of operational assets, supporting the wider O&M team in delivering projects in line with contractual KPIs and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on renewable energy assets
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults across sites
  • Monitor system performance and identify optimisation opportunities
  • Ensure assets operate in line with contractual KPIs and performance targets

Technical Support

  • Assist with diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues
  • Support remote monitoring and fault response (SCADA systems where applicable)
  • Escalate complex technical issues to engineering teams when required

Site & Contractor Coordination

  • Work closely with O&M Managers, contractors, and suppliers
  • Support coordination of subcontractors attending site
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely and efficiently

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to HSE policies and procedures at all times
  • Support site inspections and ensure compliance with quality standards

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and service reports
  • Contribute to performance reporting and documentation

About You

  • Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline
  • Experience in O&M, maintenance, or field service roles within energy or infrastructure
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of renewable energy systems (solar PV, BESS, or similar preferred)
  • Familiarity with SCADA or monitoring systems is advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
