Job Overview

We are currently looking for experienced Train Door Technicians to join one of our clients on a long‑term basis. The company is a world leader in the manufacture, modification and servicing of specialist products for the rail industry. Based on site in South East London, this Door Technician role will involve carrying out a retro‑fit to train doors along with some maintenance, repair and installation of doors.

Responsibilities

• Provide on‑site support for repairs, upgrades, and overhauls of engineering systems.
• Carry out modifications, troubleshooting and integration of existing systems.
• Identify and troubleshoot malfunctions and suggest corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and company policies.
• Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

Applicants for this Door Technician role must have a proven track record in similar work and be able to carry out troubleshooting and fault‑finding. Familiarity with door wings, sliding steps and drives is essential, along with hands‑on experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems. The successful applicant will also have a relevant, recognised qualification such as mechatronics or electrical engineering.
