Mechanical Service Technician / Site Services Engineer required for a client in Burton on Trent. The client is a market-leading manufacturer of specialist equipment for sectors including heavy engineering and aerospace. The role involves fault finding and fault rectification, mechanical repairs, basic electrical work, machine maintenance, breakdowns, and planned maintenance visits. Travel in the UK and overseas is required.
Responsibilities
- Fault finding and fault rectification on specialist equipment
- Carry out mechanical repairs and basic electrical repairs
- Carry out machine maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and conduct planned maintenance visits
- Work on installation projects when required, including testing and commissioning
- Surveying and estimating materials needed
- Creation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Qualifications
- Qualified in a mechanical discipline to HNC level (or equivalent); NVQ Level 3 or above considered
- Proven track record in mechanical maintenance and installation work
- Strong fault-finding skills and ability to follow diagrams and specifications
- Experience with project installation work and installing/commissioning new and refurbished machinery
- Basic electrical installation skills
- Willingness to travel regularly
- Knowledge of combustion systems is advantageous but not essential
