We are currently looking for an experienced Manufacturing Operative to work for one of our clients on an ongoing basis. The company is a well-respected provider of specialist equipment to a range of train manufacturers and train operating companies around the UK and overseas.
Based in their premises in Manchester, the role will involve working on the manufacture of the company’s products and will include:
- Weighing and mixing raw materials
- Cleaning and blasting using specially designed equipment
- Curing of products using presses
- Grinding and linishing the finished product
The role will include shift working which includes morning shift (0600 hours to 1400 hours), afternoon shifts (1400 hours to 2200 hours) or nights (2200 hours to 0600 hours).
Applicants must have previous experience of working in an engineering manufacturing/assembly environment and be used to using basic hand and power tools such as grinders. A basic qualification in manufacturing or engineering would be useful but is not essential. A Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence would also be useful but is not essential.
