Overview

The Project HSE will support the safe and compliant delivery of construction activities by ensuring all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards are implemented, monitored, and continuously improved. The role provides guidance, oversight and assurance to project manager, contractors and all site personnel, aligning with legal requirements, client requirements, and the organisation's management systems (including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and relevant internal procedures). The postholder will work closely with the project manager, supervisors and contractors as well as client representatives to maintain a safe working environment, prevent incidents, promote positive behaviours, and ensure strict adherence to RAMS, permits, emergency arrangements, site rules and Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s).

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor compliance with the Construction Phase Plan, the site-specific Health & Safety Plans and the organisation’s ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 systems.
  • Provide HSEQ support to Supervisors during planning, execution and sequencing of construction activities in particular construction activities to meet ITP requirements.
  • Track Snags/ Damages to show close out applying a golden thread approach. Ensure safe systems of work (RAMS, permits, inductions, daily briefings) are implemented across all zones and work fronts.
  • Lead and participate in site inspections, audits, behavioural safety observations and sensible monitoring programmes.
  • Ensure controls are in place for high-risk activities including:
    • Lifting operations
    • Mobile plant and traffic management
    • Work at height
  • Ensure emergency arrangements are understood and implemented by all site personnel.
