Senior Estimator – Data Centres, Utilities & Infrastructure Location: East London Salary: £80,000 + Package Recruitment Agency: Global Recruitment Group The Opportunity Global Recruitment Group is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Estimator to join an established and growing specialist contractor operating across data centres, water, gas, utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering and groundworks. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Senior Estimator to play a key role in securing major projects across critical infrastructure and essential utility sectors. Our client delivers specialist construction and civil engineering works, supporting the development and maintenance of vital infrastructure throughout the UK. The successful candidate will take ownership of the estimating process, preparing accurate and competitive tenders while working closely with the pre-construction, commercial and operational teams to identify opportunities and maximise project profitability. Key Responsibilities * Lead the preparation and submission of competitive tenders across infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering and groundworks projects. * Prepare detailed cost estimates for data centre infrastructure, water, gas, utility installations, enabling works and associated civil engineering packages. * Review tender documentation, engineering drawings, specifications and scopes of work to establish accurate project costs. * Undertake detailed quantity take-offs and measurements, ensuring all aspects of the works are accurately priced. * Calculate costs for labour, materials, plant, subcontractors and specialist services. * Prepare and issue subcontractor and supplier enquiries, evaluating quotations to ensure competitive and commercially robust tender submissions. * Identify commercial risks, opportunities, exclusions and qualifications throughout the tender process. * Develop detailed cost breakdowns, pricing schedules and tender documentation. * Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify technical and commercial requirements. * Work closely with the pre-construction and operational teams to develop effective tender strategies and improve bid success rates. * Participate in tender reviews, adjudications and commercial discussions. * Ensure successful tenders are handed over effectively to the project delivery and commercial teams. * Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating procedures, cost databases and commercial processes. About You We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Senior Estimator with a background in civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or groundworks. You will ideally have: Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, quantity surveying or construction management would be advantageous. However, demonstrable industry experience and a strong estimating background are equally important.
