We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Manager to oversee and enhance the safety protocols within our clients organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies to ensure a secure working environment for all employees. This role offers an opportunity to lead safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety excellence across all departments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update health and safety policies in accordance with legislative requirements and best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, or near misses, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate and deliver health and safety training programmes for staff at all levels.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance status.
- Ensure all safety equipment is maintained, properly used, and compliant with relevant standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies during inspections or audits.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness through campaigns, meetings, and continuous communication.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Provide first aid support when necessary and ensure staff are trained accordingly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in health and safety management within a similar industry setting.
- Relevant qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent are highly desirable.
- First aid certification is essential.
