We are currently recruiting for an Junior Production Engineer to join a well-established design company based in North London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid background in the design space, looking to join a dynamic and growing business. Key Responsibilities: * Develop, document and implement SOPs for all production stages, including fabrication, welding, assembly, and patination (finishing/painting). * Collaborate with design, production, and quality team to ensure SOPs ,BOMs and drawings align with best practices. * Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate material listings * Train production teams on new SOPs, BOM updates and Lean best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency. * Ensure quality control standards are met, reducing defects and enhancing product consistency. * Support lean manufacturing initiatives, process optimisation, and waste reduction strategies. * Work closely with production technicians on the shop floor to draft SOP\’s and ensure SOPs are followed correctly and identify areas for process improvement. * Support the Production Engineer in developing SOPs, process improvements, and training programs. Requirements: * Degree/Diploma in Production, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience). * Proven experience in drafting and implementing SOPs in a manufacturing environment. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models. * Experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and quality control. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments. * Ability to work directly with production technicians on the shop floor to troubleshoot issues and implement best practices * Knowledge of ISO standards, Quality management System and process documentation best practices. * Exposure to 3D modelling software (AutoCAD, or similar) * Experience with ERP or MRP systems.
