Our client is looking for an experienced Steel Fabrication Foreman / Workshop Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on role suited to someone from a Plater / Welder / Fabrication background with experience leading workshop teams and delivering heavy structural steel and complex fabrication projects. Projects include work across nuclear, bridges & infrastructure, oil & gas, high-security, and specialist engineering sectors.

Pay:

  • £29.50 per hour (CIS / PAYE Umbrella)
  • Salary review after 13 weeks
  • Benefits package

Night Shift Pattern:

  • Mon–Thurs: 20:00–06:00
  • Overtime starts: 18:00 or 19:00 only
  • 39hr contract employees must start by 19:00 Tuesday
  • Weekend O/T (Fri–Sun): 18:00 / 19:00 / 20:00–06:00

Key Duties:

  • Supervise and support workshop teams (platers, welders, fabricators)
  • Manage production targets, labour, materials, and workflow
  • Oversee fabrication quality and workshop H&S
  • Read engineering drawings and coordinate dispatch
  • Maintain strong communication across workshop and site teams

Requirements:

  • Background in steel fabrication / plating / welding
  • Experience with heavy structural steel
  • Previous workshop supervisory or foreman experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
