An Intermediate level Quantity Surveyor is required to join a top contractor to work on multiple projects. This client has a large pipeline of work and has a proven track record across a diverse range of sectors including Residential, Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Leisure & Sport and Pharma. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to develop their career within the construction industry in an exciting, growing firm. The successful candidate will be working in either the Newry or Belfast office whichever is preferred with flexibility to travel to sites as required. Upon successful passing of the probation period candidates would have the opportunity to work 1-2 days from home.

Role: These include but are not limited to:

  • Procurement, appointment and management of subcontractors & suppliers through to final account
  • Produce accurate progress accounts
  • Preparation and assessment of interim and final valuations for progress payments
  • Monitor and report on project costs
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and cost overruns
  • Assist the pre-construction team in the delivery of tenders
  • Stay updated on industry innovations, regulations etc

Requirements:

  • Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum 3-4 years relevant Irish/UK experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience in Buildsoft / Cubit / Bluebeam preferred
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) with an ability to build productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent measurement knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritising and managing multiple tasks simultaneously while working to tight deadlines, managing time effectively
  • Ability to take initiative and work both individually and as a strong team player

Salary:

  • Salary circa £60k-£70k DOE
