Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, Ireland’s Main Contractors have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join their team working on a wide variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with NEC contracts and a strong background in civil engineering/construction projects. This role will be based in the Newry or Belfast office with flexibility to travel to sites as required. Upon completion of the probation period there may be an option of 1-2 days working from home.

Role:

  • Oversee and manage all project costs to ensure that projects are completed within budget.
  • Prepare and evaluate cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for our projects.
  • Manage NEC contracts, including interpreting contract clauses, managing early warnings, and assessing compensation events.
  • Analyse and assess variations, manage claims in compliance with NEC guidelines, and ensure timely resolution of any contract issues.
  • Conduct cost analysis and risk management for ongoing projects.
  • Oversee procurement processes, negotiate with subcontractors, and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on project financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of contract documents and manage contract variations.

Requirements:

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying/ Estimation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the Construction/Civil Engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
  • Proven experience with NEC contracts is essential.
  • Proficient in the use of COINS, Primavera P6, MS Project software and MS Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary: £75K – £85K neg DOE
