Global Platinum Securities (GPS) is a unique intercollegiate student-run investment company that seeks to educate the next generation of investors by immersing them in the field of active investment management. Its ~65 student members and ~400 alumni hail from eight renowned universities across North America and London. These include LSE, Harvard, MIT, Wharton, Georgetown, NYU, Colorado and Dayton.
We require no background experience whatsoever. We welcome applications from first year undergraduates of all degrees, as well as first and second year students on four-year programmes.
As a prerequisite for selection, each member displays a passion for knowledge, a high level of intellectual curiosity, extraordinary leadership capabilities, a willingness to commit time to weekly research and conference calls, and a strong regard for their surrounding community.
Upon induction to the group, students participate in a structured Education Program. This unique Program is designed to introduce analysts to basic business and financial concepts through a variety of avenues including reading materials, books, hands-on experience and interaction with fellow analysts and GPS members.
We organise three conferences each year in the US. The final step in an analyst's training programme is to deliver a pitch in front of the entire organisation at the annual GPS Fall Conference, which occurs every September in New York City. Past conferences have included Q&A with Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Howard Marks, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Barry Rosenstein.
Owing to a strong regard for corporate citizenship, student members, through the GPS Giving Back Program, donate their time and knowledge each year to enrich the underprivileged in our surrounding communities. We wish to profit by upholding an ethical code of conduct by educating, by mentoring and by fostering life-long friendships. The involvement of members and alumni in mentoring the new analysts in GPS is an investment in the future.
Application deadline: 20th October 2025, 23:59 BST. Do note applications are NOT on a rolling basis. We will only review all applications after the deadline and we advise attending one of our information sessions before applying.
