Responsibilities:
- Independently perform a set of daily settlement and reconciliation tasks within established guidelines and timeframes.
- Provide support and back-up coverage for other associates as necessary.
- Create and maintain documentation for daily procedures.
- Facilitate continuous improvement of daily processes by collaborating with pertinent functional business units and driving change.
- Participate in SOX and SOC1 audits by preparing documentation or producing sample data within established due dates.
- Monitor and resolve settlement failures according to policy guidelines.
- Execute complex reconciliations using Oracle query tools and provide thoughtful, analytical input in order to not only resolve discrepancies, but to work toward eliminating the root cause of the variances.
- Work directly with external business partners such as banks and financial auditors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of settlement concepts, terminology, standards and practices; experience in the banking or card payment processing industry highly desired.
- Proficiency in performing financial reconciliations and possess knowledge of common resolution techniques.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and adhering to strict deadlines.
- Intermediate/Advanced level Excel and Google Workspace.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to draft technical procedures and process documentation.
- Ability to speak/present comfortably to small groups, provide training to business partners both in live and virtual settings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying technical understanding and all levels of leadership.
- Reliability and punctuality are required since most of the daily work is confined to strict deadlines.
