We’re looking for an experienced Head of Merchant Risk ‑ Europe to join our ever‑evolving team and help shape the future of global commerce.
The Head or Merchant Risk – Europe is responsible for end‑to‑end regional risk ownership including onboarding, merchant fraud and ongoing monitoring.
This role is the single point of accountability to support business priorities and facilitates proactive risk leadership embedded with regional P&L owners.
Responsibilities
- Leads Strategy Development: Defines and optimizes credit policies, decision rules, and underwriting criteria for account acquisitions, portfolio management, and line management.
- Risk Appetite Definition: Establishes the \"credit box\" in collaboration with business leaders (GMs), Finance, and second line risk teams.
- Governance & Compliance: Oversees risk governance frameworks, ensuring policies meet regulatory requirements (e. g., consumer credit laws) and audit standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyzes portfolio data to identify trends, evaluate strategy performance, and adjusts tactics to mitigate risk while encouraging growth.
- Project Management: Drives end‑to‑end strategic initiatives, including testing and launching new risk capabilities.
