Summary of This Role

Guides and undertakes business development efforts of prospective clients and distribution channel partners. Plans, identifies, and executes due diligence and implementation of strategic business development objectives. Researches, evaluates, and manages new strategic business opportunities, entry into niche or new geographic markets, new business platforms, major segment initiatives, and key partnerships and alliances pursuant to the mid- to long-range strategic plans of the segment and enterprise. Coordinates with Corporate Strategy & Development team in mergers, acquisitions, and/or joint ventures. Establishes policy and strategy implementation. Manages financial feasibility studies including market analysis, monitoring of competitive activity, and identifying customer needs. Assists with special studies or key projects in areas such as operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, and cost containment.

What Part Will You Play?

Identifies, negotiates, and secures new business relationships with non-traditional prospects with innovative ideas for new product solutions to create new business opportunities. Collaborates with product managers, sales, clients, relationship management teams, consultants, and internal and external partners to define growth strategies, product marketing positioning, pricing strategies, partnerships, communications, industry events, and/or strategies for products and services. Coordinates qualified opportunities with internal teams for product design and solution analysis. Evaluates new ideas for technical feasibility, deployment options, costs, and market potential. Assists Strategic Marketing in market assessment and analysis to determine target markets and client reactions to new solutions. Identifies emerging market opportunities and monitors competitive activity. Provides recommendations (go/no go, buy, build, or partner) to management based on ROI potential. Leads commercial and contractual negotiations to ensure profitable returns and manages full due diligence leading into contracts. Oversees sales process including qualifying opportunities, developing terms sheets, solution design, RFP/RFI responses, pricing, and legal negotiations. Monitors revenue to meet financial objectives, manages invoicing and revenue recognition. Identifies and negotiates potential business partnerships to enhance products and services, offering the latest technology and innovations in electronic payments. Provides industry knowledge and strategic product management expertise to identify market trends and innovation needs. Contributes thought leadership through white papers, case studies, and speaking engagements. Performs other duties as assigned.

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Relevant experience or degree in Computer Science or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Typically 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in technology and financial services technology, preferably across all phases of the B2B product lifecycle within the Payments space.
  • Strong understanding of fintech environment and emerging players (Google, Facebook, Apple, etc.).
  • Prior sales, business development, or M&A experience is valuable.
  • Start-up, executive management, or P&L management experience is beneficial.
  • Understanding of sales management, reporting, and experience with management dashboards for senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a related field from an accredited university.
  • Typically 12+ years of relevant experience.
