POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Lead Marketing Media Specialist, your main responsibility is to develop and optimize digital advertising strategies for strategic manufacturers on Amazon and other marketplaces.
You will collaborate with account teams, problem-solve with internal and external stakeholders, stay updated with industry trends, and provide reporting and analysis.
Your role will include the development and management of media specialists within your pod/client group.
The ideal candidate should be confident, self-motivated, committed to the growth and development of direct reports, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
Multitasking in a fast-paced environment is crucial, and the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment is key to success.
Responsibilities
- Ability to drive the strategy and overall management of sponsored ads activity across all account sizes, including top-tier strategic partners.
- Media strategy planning: Work closely with account teams to understand the needs and goals of strategic manufacturers and develop and execute digital media plans and advertising strategies to support and drive those objectives.
- Responsible for the ongoing support, coaching, mentorship, and development of a team of 1-3 Media Specialists managing small to mid-sized accounts.
- Oversee the performance of the clients their direct reports manage, providing strategic direction and ensuring strategy alignment and progress to goals.
- Lead team to provide additional analysis as needed by aligning with brand manager/retail director to inform strategic approach.
- Partner cross-functionally on initiatives that support the processes and growth of the sponsored ads team.
- Problem-solving with internal and external stakeholders: identifying and addressing marketing challenges and issues by working with internal marketing/sales teams, retailer partners and manufacturers to find effective solutions and implement them in a timely manner.
- Reporting and analysis: Develop and deliver regular reports and analysis of campaign performance and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
Use the data to identify trends and inform future strategies with the goal to accelerate growth.
- Assist in identifying and driving the presentation of client retail media growth opportunities outside of Amazon (Instacart, Walmart, Criteo, Kroger, etc.)
- Proficient in leveraging research, automation and execution platforms and tools to drive efficiencies and train team members on their use and use cases.
- Ensures the capture, ownership and execution of all client sponsored ads follow ups and deliverables within their team, ensuring timely and professional communication with clients and internal team at all times.
- Multitasking in a fast-paced environment: managing multiple projects, priorities, clients and direct reports simultaneously, while adhering to deadlines and maintaining attention to detail, in a dynamic environment
- Responsible for evangelizing incremental measurement tools (AMC, OCM) amongst their team and deploying these tools based on the unique measurement needs of each client
- Optimizing advertising strategies: Continuously monitor and optimize digital advertising campaigns on Amazon and other marketplaces to ensure maximum performance and alignment to client goals.
- Research competitive and keyword landscape to determine appropriate keyword and competitive product targets, and audit and analyze historical campaign performance to determine specific ad type and targeting approach.
- Stay updated with industry trends: keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in the digital advertising landscape, as well as changes in Amazon and Marketplace features, enhancements and ad products, leveraging that knowledge to drive effective strategies, and sharing that knowledge with internal and external partners.
- Knowledge/Skills
- Experience with digital marketing, search engine marketing, programmatic media buying
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Amazon tools, including the Amazon Advertising suite of solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends to inform the business
- Ability to problem-solve and multitask
- Certification in Amazon Advertising
Requirements
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- 5 + years of marketing experience
- Amazon Sponsored Ads experience managing large, complex businesses required
- Experience with Amazon Advertising or other retail media channels
- Proficiency in Excel at an intermediate level in order to efficiently manipulate large sets of data for analysis.
- Preferred experience: Downstream, Tableau, Skai, Jungle Scout/Cobalt, Criteo/Citrus Ads and Retailer ad console platforms
- People management experience – demonstrated ability and desire to lead, develop and mentor up and coming associates
- This position requires up to 15% travel
- Fluency in German and English
