The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
This role is a full-time assurance technical role as a manager within the Assurance team within BDO\βs Global Audit and Assurance (A&A) stream, working on a wide range of exciting projects to enable firms to deliver global quality outcomes on audits.
Key accountabilities
- In conjunction with other team members, research and prepare technical materials related to Global Assurance projects. This includes:
- Participation in Teams calls with other team members, committees and working groups that are collaborating on assurance projects
- Development of technical papers for assurance projects related to International Standards on Auditing and the BDO Audit Approach (BDOAA), as well as other standards promulgated by the International Audit and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB)
- Drafting/updating Technical Manual (including Audit Manual) chapters related to assurance projects
- Drafting/updating and testing content for BDO\βs assurance software (APT) and liaising with the software design team to discuss issues arising
- Working with the assurance software design Team to design methodology-related changes to assurance technologies
- Development of communications, learning, guidance and other publications issued across BDO
- Development of training materials and other implementation guidance
- Presenting/facilitating training courses (live and virtual)
- In conjunction with other team members, assist with Global A&A Conferences. This includes:
- Developing materials for such conferences
- Presenting/facilitating sessions (live and virtual)
- Other miscellaneous tasks conducted by Global A&A β including providing support to firms, helping to resolve methodology queries, implementation issues, audit and assurance report questions and formal consultations in line with BDO\βs policies, working with other parts of Global A&A, other Global Office teams, analysing data/information and providing additional support to other team members on projects in which they are involved.
Qualifications and Experience Technical
- Good comprehension of International Standards on Auditing and other standards promulgated by the IAASB. Experience in other standards (US, UK) as well would be an advantage though not a pre-requisite
- Experience in delivering audit and other assurance services to audited entities at a manager level (at a minimum)
- Experience, secondment or involvement in national technical assurance activities would be an advantage.
