Introduction
Passionate about wildlife and eager to experience life in one of the world’s most beautiful cities? Join the Wildlife Rescue Center near Vancouver and play a hands-on role in rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing native animals back into the wild.
As a volunteer at Canada\'s largest wildlife rehabilitation facility, you\'ll help care for nearly 5,000 injured, orphaned, or pollution-affected animals each year. The center specializes in rehabilitating native bird species such as songbirds, waterfowl, and shorebirds with the goal of restoring them to full health and returning them to their natural habitats.
Your days will be physically demanding and fast-paced, with tasks that vary based on the season and animal needs. From feeding and cleaning to habitat prep and basic treatment support, every task contributes to meaningful recovery and long-term conservation. You’ll also help reduce human-wildlife conflict by assisting with the relocation of animals from urban areas to safe, remote habitats.
Be aware that this program welcomes a large volunteer community and offers a hands-on experience alongside experienced staff and volunteers from around the world.
