Program Overview
This Animal Care Program focuses on rescuing, caring for and improving the lives of animals that are not receiving fair treatment or are in danger due to various circumstances. We collaborate with local animal shelters across Korea to provide hands‑on support for stray dogs and cats and to assist animals affected by natural disasters or violence. The program also works to improve conditions for animals held in “dog farming” facilities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Rescue and Care: Participate in rescue operations and provide ongoing care for animals facing neglect, abuse, or dangerous circumstances.
- Shelter Support: Work with local animal shelters, helping with tasks such as cleaning, feeding, and ensuring the well‑being of stray animals.
- Disaster and Abuse Response: Assist in rescuing animals affected by natural disasters or violence and help improve conditions in “dog farming” facilities.
- Advocacy and Awareness: Contribute to raising public awareness about animal welfare issues and promote lasting change for vulnerable animals.
Daily Life
On Monday, you will meet with our Medical Officer to learn about community health issues and receive training for your responsibilities. After the meeting you will prepare for the day’s activities and then visit a local school where you will organize engaging lessons on health and hygiene. At the end of the day you will share your experience, provide feedback, and reflect on your learning.
Accommodation
Your base camp or guesthouse will be located in the heart of Seoul, close to the city’s vibrant arts scene and marketplace. You will have easy access to the airport, with shelters scattered across the city but within a few hours of your accommodation. All information is subject to change.
