Location & Duration: Talara, Peru. Minimum 2 weeks, maximum 6 months. Start dates are flexible.

Responsibilities: Daily activities will vary depending on our current projects but volunteers will be able to get involved in a variety of tasks and development initiatives including, but not limited to:

  • Project Wilipipe – Create and distribute tide and swell charts for local fishermen each week.
  • Finances – Support accounting processes, work with spreadsheets and financial performance metrics and reports.
  • Social Media/Website – Take photos and videos of ongoing activities to produce content for our social media platforms and website.
  • Project monitoring, data analysis and evaluation – Design and carry out surveys in the local community, analyse data and write reports.
  • Project maintenance – Assist other interns and staff in maintaining reforestation sites, permaculture garden, dry toilet units and more.

About the Organization: This project is with a surfing-inspired sustainable development non-profit (NGO) that drives the development of poor Peruvian coastal communities through environmental, educational, infrastructure and socio-economic projects. We work hand in hand with local communities and international interns.
