Your new role - Weekend Producer, Capital

Are you ready to power the weekends at the UK's Number 1 Hit Music station? We're looking for an experienced Producer to join the world-class team at Capital and take creative ownership of multiple high-profile weekend shows - including the Official Big Top 40, the UK's biggest chart show broadcast across both Capital and Heart.

You'll be the creative force behind Capital's weekend programming - shaping the sound, crafting standout content, and delivering the moments that millions of 15-34s talk about. From researching trending topics to scripting compelling competitions and planning must-listen shows, you'll be at the heart of Capital's weekend output. Working with presenting talent, digital teams, and music experts, you'll create seamless content that works across radio and Global Player.

Key Responsibilities
  • Producing 50% – Produce multiple Capital Weekend shows, including the Official Big Top 40, one of the UK’s most iconic chart programmes broadcast across Capital and Heart, with responsibility for the live studio environment, radio desk and on-air output.
  • Research, Script & Plan 50% – Research, script and plan standout content for a 15–34 audience, support and develop presenting talent, manage show scripts and planning documents, deliver branded content features, and collaborate with Capital’s digital team to drive engagement on Global Player.

In your first few months, you’ll have:

  • Gained an in-depth understanding of the Official Big Top 40 - from show planning and production to operational and technical delivery.
  • Built a great collaborative relationship with Capital's digital team and become instrumental in helping to drive our digital content strategy forward, especially on Global Player.
