The Sales Team Leader is responsible for developing the sales team, coordinating sales operations and implementing sales techniques that allow the business to meet and surpass its targets consistently. Working with customers, suppliers and members, evaluate budgets, P&L and determine ways to simplify and improve the sales process. The role will entail assigning sales territories, mentoring members of their sales team, setting targets, assigning sales training, full HR of the team and building sales plans. In the role you will also set goals, identify priorities and eliminate redundant activities to increase sales.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Help support management of the sales team
  • Achieving growth and hitting sales targets by successfully managing the team and by assessing individuals' strengths and weaknesses
  • Developing and implementing new sales initiatives, strategies and programmes to capture key demographics
  • To manage the Sales team to achieve the above, through:
    • The setting of objectives for all team members
    • Conducting regular 1-2-1’s performance management
    • The support and development of the team
  • Answer incoming calls from prospective customers
  • Use scripts to provide information about product’s features, prices etc. & present their benefits
  • Ask pertinent questions to understand the customer’s requirements
  • Persuade the customer to buy by demonstrating how merchandise or services meet their needs
  • Record the customer’s personal information accurately in a computer system
  • Deal with complaints or doubts to safeguard the company’s reputation
  • Go the “extra mile” to meet sales quota and facilitate future sales
  • Keep records of calls and sales and record useful information

Skills / Attributes Required

  • Experience in team coaching and development
  • Ability to undertake team training sessions
  • Identifying personal and professional needs and requirements for team members
  • Proven experience as telemarketer or similar sales/customer service role
  • Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quotas preferably over the phone
  • Working knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g. CRM software) and telephone systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in English
  • Skilled in negotiation and dealing with complaints
  • Persistent, determined and results-oriented

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • Team management experience
  • Sales experience (preferred)
  • 1-2 years experience in telemarketing (preferred)
