The Procurement Systems Lead is responsible for driving the effectiveness, accuracy, and data-driven performance of the Procurement function. This role serves as the central owner of procurement systems, reporting, process governance, and supplier onboarding. The position is accountable for maintaining, creating, and developing procurement policies, processes, and procedural documentation. It also leads the management of key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring data integrity within the ERP system, and oversees supplier onboarding activities. In addition, the role is responsible for monitoring and reporting supplier on-time-in-full (OTIF) performance.

Key Deliverables

  • Serve as the procurement lead for IFS – Super User, maintaining categorisation, workflows, and reporting, as well as onboarding processes and optimisation of procurement systems.
  • Develop and maintain procurement dashboards, reporting methods, automated and analytics.
  • Lead continuous improvements in system functionality, data structures, SRM, Supplier Master Records and process automation.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with business IFS System Owner.
  • Ensure consistent and standardised PO, contract, and vendor data structures.
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly procurement performance reports.
  • Maintain the procurement contract register.
  • Deliver insights to support category, supplier negotiations, and decisions.
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis to support vessels, subsea operations, and projects.
  • Lead supplier onboarding processes end-to-end.
  • Maintain supplier master data standards.
  • Maintain and update procurement procedures, policies, and guidance documents.
  • Support audits, compliance checks, and process adherence monitoring.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the central point of expertise for procurement systems and reporting.
  • Support x2 Procurement Transactional Officers with expediting, PO raising, OTIF measurement, and system queries.
  • Collaborate with Direct Buyers to provide data insights.
  • Partner with Strategic Category Manager on analytics and performance monitoring.
  • Lead and manage key supplier categories across indirect spend.
  • Apply strong procurement expertise to drive value, ensure compliance and optimise supplier performance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, analytics, or systems administration.
  • Strong ERP proficiency (IFS preferred).
  • Excel/data analysis capability; Power BI preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly.
  • Experience in marine, subsea, engineering, or project industries.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices.
  • Experience in change management.
  • Accurate, timely reporting.

Location: This role is based in the Chelmsford office and follows a hybrid working arrangement, with working 3 days in the office, Tuesday to Thursday and 2 days working remotely, Monday and Friday.
