Global Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Controls Engineer to join their Production Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in developing and optimising advanced automation solutions within a modern manufacturing environment. You will work across control systems, SCADA/HMI platforms, and continuous improvement projects that drive operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, programme, and enhance control systems for both new and existing production equipment.
  • Configure and maintain SCADA and HMI systems to improve machine efficiency and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues while supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams across multiple sites on equipment upgrades and process improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the delivery of automation and smart manufacturing projects.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree qualified (BEng Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline).
  • Proven experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (Mitsubishi experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of VFD/VSD drives, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and CC-Link protocols.
  • Previous experience working within a live manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Desirable: 5+ years experience within a Controls Engineering role.
