A permanent vacancy has arisen within our clients Production Engineering Section for a CNC Machinist, please note the main base for this position is Falkirk.
Rate of pay (Training rate) - £15.50ph
Rate of pay (After training) - £17ph, 39 hours pw with minimum 5hrs OT at 1.5X.
Duties
- Operate CNC machines, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
- Load, set up, and program jobs using CNC software and technical drawings.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust for accuracy and tolerances.
- Conduct quality checks and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Collaborate with fabrication and welding teams to meet project timelines.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of CNC operation experience in structural steel or heavy fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret steel fabrication drawings and shop details.
- Ability to maintain and fix machines.
- Familiarity with beam line or plasma processing machinery.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
