Experienced Settlements Analyst required in small London Stockbrokers situated in the heart of the City, with a team of 15+. The company is FCA regulated, a London Stock Exchange member firm offering a diversified range of global financial services, founded on client relationships and built on trust, efficiency and integrity.
The International Settlements Analyst is responsible for managing the timely and accurate processing of international transactions, ensuring that all settlements are executed as per agreed terms. Full understanding of front to back settlement/reconciliation processes is required. The role involves resolving trade breaks/discrepancies in the required time frame and liaising with the reconciliation team, internal and external parties, ensuring compliance with international financial regulations. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of international trade flow and trade management.
Key Responsibilities:
- International Settlements (Bonds and Equities)
- Process international trades and interbank settlements into the inhouse system and market transactions.
- Ensure that settlement instructions are accurate.
- Liaise with counterparties (e.g., banks, financial institutions) to resolve settlement issues and discrepancies.
- Monitor and report on the status of international settlements, ensuring that transactions are settled within agreed timelines.
- Have experience of arbitrage and position transfers to facilitate arbitrage settlement.
- Reconciliations:
- Understanding of front to back reconciliation processes and requirements.
- Ability to compare internal transaction records against external records (e.g., bank statements) to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in settlements, involving relevant parties to correct errors.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on settlement activities, highlighting issues and discrepancies.
- Provide analysis and insights into settlement performance.
- Customer and Stakeholder Support:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including treasury, finance, and operations, to resolve settlement-related issues.
- Communicate effectively with external financial institutions, vendors, and clients to resolve any settlement discrepancies.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism when dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.
Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in equity international settlements, reconciliation, or financial operations.
- Familiarity with international banking systems and currency exchange processes.
- Experience in handling multi-currency settlements and working with international financial systems.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and reconciliation procedures.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
