The Opportunity
- Global Highland are recruiting for a chef to join a busy kitchen team for our client in Kingussie.
- This is a full-time role on a temporary basis to cover the summer season. Working with exceptional local produce, you would create fresh, seasonal dishes, home-baked cakes and tray bakes, and innovative daily specials that showcase the best ingredients from local suppliers.
Key Responsibility
- Lead and deliver a high-volume lunch service to consistently high standards.
- Develop and prepare daily specials using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients.
- Produce a range of high-quality home-baked cakes, tray bakes, and sweet treats for daily sale.
- Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Manage food preparation, ordering, stock control, and stock rotation.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirements.
- Minimise waste and maximise profitability through effective kitchen management.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef, Sous Chef or Senior CDP required.
- Candidates to have a strong background in fresh food preparation and high volume service.
- Previous experience in a cafe, brunch, street food or casual dining experience is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to create and cost menus effectively.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and also be able to take ownership of the kitchen.

- Transport is provided to the location via minibus from Aviemore/Kingussie/Kincraig so driving is not essential.
