The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established bar and restaurant in the Aviemore area, is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join their kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and driven chef to take on a key leadership role within a busy, high-volume operation, supporting the Head Chef in delivering consistently high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Lead kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP standards
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
  • Train, supervise, and motivate junior members of the kitchen team

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
  • Strong knowledge of fresh food and high-volume service
  • Good understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance

Desirable

  • Formal culinary qualifications
  • Experience in a similar bar and restaurant environment

What's on Offer

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Working pattern: 45 hours per week

Typical shifts: 11:00 - 21:15 / 21:30 (1.5 hour break)

Occasional breakfast cover: 07:00 - 15:00
