The Opportunity Global Highland are recruiting for a chef to join a busy kitchen team for our client in Kingussie. This is a full time, temporary role covering the summer season. Working with exceptional local produce, you will create fresh, seasonal dishes, home‑baked cakes and traybakes, and innovative daily specials that showcase the best ingredients from local suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a high‑volume lunch service to consistently high standards.
- Develop and prepare daily specials using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients.
- Produce a range of high‑quality home‑baked cakes, traybakes, and sweet treats for daily sale.
- Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Manage food preparation, ordering, stock control, and stock rotation.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirements.
- Minimise waste and maximise profitability through effective kitchen management.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef, Sous Chef or Senior CDP required.
- Strong background in fresh food preparation and high‑volume service.
- Previous experience in a café, brunch, street food or casual dining environment preferred.
- Ability to create and cost menus effectively.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the kitchen.
