The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established bar and restaurant in the Aviemore area, is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join their kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and driven chef to take on a key leadership role within a busy, high-volume operation, supporting the Head Chef in delivering consistently high-quality food.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Lead kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP standards
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
- Train, supervise, and motivate junior members of the kitchen team
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
- Strong knowledge of fresh food and high-volume service
- Good understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance
Desirable
- Formal culinary qualifications
- Experience in a similar bar and restaurant environment
