The Opportunity
Global Highland are looking for a Head Chef to join or client in their busy community restaurant and bar in a small village near to Pitlochry.
This is a full time, permanant role for a creative chef who is looking to share their cooking skills with both locals and tourists. The ideal candidate would be experienced in gastropub and enjoys cooking fresh foods with a Scottish flair.
Shift pattern to be Wednesday to Sunday, 40hours per week.
Although accommodation is not provided the client can support the right candidate to find accommodation in the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and supervise the production of all menu items.
- Develop new recipes and seasonal menus.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency meet company standards.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, including scheduling and performance monitoring.
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and minimize food waste.
- Control food costs and kitchen expenses within budget.
- Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operated safely.
- Resolve kitchen issues promptly and maintain a positive working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent cooking skills and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of food safety legislation.
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining standards.
- Strong organisational and communication skills
