The Opportunity
A well-established organisation in the civil engineering sector is seeking an experienced HGV Driver to support transport operations across multiple sites in Scotland. This varied role involves delivering materials and plant, supporting site operations, and contributing to general yard duties. The successful candidate will work closely with site managers, the transport team, and plant operatives to ensure safe and efficient deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Delivery Duties
- Safely load and deliver materials and plant to various sites
- Conduct deliveries using HGVs and occasionally vans
- Maintain vehicles, including cleaning, greasing, and general upkeep
- Follow daily schedules and instructions to ensure timely deliveries
- Adhere to all current driving rules, legislation, and site regulations
Yard & Site Support
- Assist with general yard duties, including loading and unloading
- Work collaboratively with site personnel to complete tasks safely
- Carry out necessary site clearance work after delivery
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with health & safety procedures
- Demonstrate professionalism and commitment to client care
Requirements
Essential
- HGV Class 2 UK Drivers Licence
- Up-to-date digital tachograph card
- Driver CPC Qualification
- CPCS Crane Competency & CSCS card
- Ability to undertake manual work and work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Hi-Ab & Forklift Certificates (training can be provided) xiskglj
- Previous experience in civil engineering or similar industry
- Flexibility to undertake other yard or site tasks as required
