Job Title: Dayshift / Backshift Electrician
Location: Inverness
Hours: Dayshift / Backshift (covering shifts as required)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dayshift/Backshift Electrician to join our engineering team at our Inverness site. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical systems across the factory, yard, and offices.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the safe and efficient utilisation of all electrical equipment throughout the site.

Work collaboratively with the engineering and production teams to support site operations.

Diagnose and repair electrical breakdowns across the plant.
-
Modify and improve existing procedures and programmes when required.

Carry out preventative maintenance on electrical equipment.
-
Identify and report any early signs of equipment failure.
-
Maintain accurate documentation including logbooks, programme additions, and changes.
-
Install and commission new equipment and services as requested.

Perform isolations and de-isolations in line with permit-to-work procedures.

Assist with other engineering work as directed by the Electrical Supervisor.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe working practices at all times.
About You:

Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate.

Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.

Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Essential Requirements:
-
Qualified to City & Guilds level or above in Electrical Engineering.
-
Proven industrial maintenance experience.
-
PLC knowledge preferably Allen Bradley 5/40 and Siemens Step 5.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
-
Willingness to work towards completion of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
-
Flexibility to cover for shift electricians when required.
