Key Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic management systems on roads and highways
- Install traffic signs, cones, barriers, temporary traffic lights, and diversion routes
- Ensure all traffic management complies with health & safety regulations and company procedures
- Carry out site risk assessments before starting work
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust layouts where necessary to maintain safety and efficiency
- Complete daily paperwork, vehicle checks, and incident reports
- Attend emergency call-outs and reactive works when required
- Maintain equipment and ensure all tools are in good working condition
- Follow Chapter 8 and New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) guidelines
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and members of the public
Required Skills & Experience
- Good understanding of road safety and traffic management procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious
- Experience within highways, construction, utilities, or traffic management preferred
Essential Tickets / Qualifications
- Lantra 12D M1/M2 Traffic Management Qualification (Trainee or qualified operative depending on role)
- T1/T2 Traffic Management Ticket for basic traffic management setups on urban and rural roads
- NRSWA Street Works Card (Signing, Lighting & Guarding)
- CSCS Card - Relevant construction or highways card
- Full UK Driving Licence (Often with no more than 6 points)
