We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-driven Fire Sprinkler Designer / Surveyor to join our specialist fire protection team. Based in the Home Counties, this role involves a combination of site surveys, system design, and client coordination across commercial, residential, and industrial projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of sprinkler systems and relevant codes of practice, with a focus on delivering compliant, efficient, and cost-effective fire protection solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out site surveys to assess client requirements and gather data for fire sprinkler system design.
- Produce detailed sprinkler system designs in accordance with LPC Rules, BS EN 12845, NFPA, and other relevant standards.
- Prepare design calculations, hydraulic analysis, and layout drawings using appropriate CAD and design software.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure accurate scoping, coordination, and delivery of designs.
- Support the estimation, technical submission, and approval process with third-party authorities and insurers.
- Conduct design revisions and provide on-site support during installation when required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in fire sprinkler system design and/or surveying.
- Strong knowledge of BS EN 12845, LPCB standards, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and hydraulic calculation tools (e.g., Canute, Hyena).
- Excellent technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the Home Counties as needed.
Desirable:
- LPS 1048 or equivalent accreditation.
- Experience with residential, commercial, and/or high-rise developments.
- Knowledge of other fire protection systems (e.g., dry risers, mist, suppression systems).
- CSCS card and relevant H&S certifications.
