About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Façade Estimator to join our commercial team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for façade projects, including curtain walling, cladding, glazing, and related building envelope systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of façade construction and excellent commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for façade projects, including curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, and glazing systems.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and design documents to produce accurate pricing and material take-offs.
- Collaborate closely with design, procurement, and project management teams to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Review supplier and subcontractor quotations, negotiate prices, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Identify risks and opportunities within tenders and provide input on commercial terms.
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimating templates.
- Attend tender clarification meetings and respond to client queries as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Façade Estimator or in a similar estimating role within the façade or building envelope sector.
- Strong knowledge of curtain walling, glazing, and cladding systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience with BIM and digital take-off tools.
- Familiarity with UK building regulations and standards related to façades.
- Previous experience working within a specialist façade contractor or consultancy.
