Global Fire and Security Systems are an independent company established in Nottingham in 1999, and now market leaders in fire and security solutions nationwide. We are seeking to appoint Service Engineers – Ansul & Fire Extinguishers to work field‑based across West London.

Job Purpose

  • Carry out servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems.
  • Ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date.
  • Adhere to the company Health and Safety policy.
  • Ensure compliance with the GFS management system as it applies to this position.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform fire extinguisher and Ansul fire suppression system servicing and remedial work at sites such as restaurants and hotels.
  • Provide a high level of customer service in a professional manner at all times.
  • Arrange your own diary and book appointments with clients.
  • Complete paperwork and reports promptly.
  • Participate in the on‑call rota alongside colleagues.
  • Maintain and operate equipment safely in accordance with Health & Safety.
  • Monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment and record inspection reports.
  • Keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
  • Possess working knowledge of statutory regulations and awareness of all safety procedures.

About You

  • Demonstrable experience of servicing and maintaining portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems.
  • Qualifications to service fire extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems in accordance with British Standards.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices.
  • Strong customer‑care focus.
  • Proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25 kg.

Training Provided

If you already have experience of Ansul R102 systems, that’s great. If not, but you have the right aptitude and some of the right skills, we may be able to train you in the rest! Experience servicing extinguishers, other suppression/sprinkler systems, or transferable skills such as BT/Sky installations or kitchen operations will be considered. We would be happy to consider training you on the systems you will need.
