Job Purpose
To support the efficient operation of the warehouse by accurately managing goods in and out, maintaining organised inventory systems, and ensuring smooth coordination across departments while upholding high standards of accuracy, safety, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Assist with goods in procedures, including receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Pick orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring the correct products and quantities are selected for delivery or collection.
- Maintain a well-organized warehouse, ensuring proper storage and labelling of products for easy accessibility and efficient inventory management.
- Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure adequate stock levels are always maintained, coordinating with the purchasing team to replenish inventory as needed.
- Provide support to the fleet department by assisting with vehicle inspections, maintenance scheduling/drop offs, and vehicle deliveries.
- Manage obsolete or redundant stock, including listing items for sale on eBay or other relevant platforms, ensuring proper documentation and disposal procedures are followed.
- Prepare and cut materials as required for engineers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct regular stock takes and assist with inventory audits to maintain accurate stock records and identify any discrepancies.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the purchasing manager and perform additional tasks as requested to support the efficient operation of the purchasing department.
About You
- Previous experience in a warehouse or store operative role is preferred.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking and inventory management.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with eBay or other online selling platforms is a plus.
- Competent IT skills - knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
