Overview

Service Engineer - Ansul & Fire Extinguisher – Global Fire and Security Systems. Field Based – Opportunities Nationwide. Full Time – £DOE + Overtime + On Call and Call out + bonus scheme.

Job Purpose

To carry out servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems. To ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date. To ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to. To ensure compliance with the GFS management system as it applies to this position.

Key Accountabilities

  • To carry out fire extinguisher and Ansul fire suppression system servicing and remedials at various sites such as restaurants and hotels.
  • Providing a good level of customer service and professional manner at all times.
  • Arranging your own diary and booking in appointments with clients.
  • Completing paperwork and reports to be sent back in a timely manner.
  • Take part in the on call rota alongside your colleagues.
  • To ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety.
  • To monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment.
  • Record inspection reports.
  • To keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
  • To have working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures.

About You

  • Demonstrable experience of servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems.
  • Qualifications to service fire extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems in accordance with British Standards.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices.
  • Strong customer care focus.
  • Be proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25kg.

If you already have experience of Ansul R102 systems, that’s great, but if not and you have the right aptitude and some of the right skills, we may be able to train you in the rest. For example, you might have experience of servicing extinguishers, or maybe another suppression/sprinkler system. If you are from outside of the industry and may have experience in BT/Sky installations, these would be transferable skills. We would be happy to consider training you on the systems that you will need.
